Microsoft Outlook: Hide Messages Marked for Deletion with IMAP

By default Outlook shows email messages marked for deletion with a strikeout line through the messages. Most people prefer to hide the message.

  • To hide messages marked for deletion, from Outlooks's View Menu, Choose: Current View, "Hide Messages Marked for Deletion"

  • The messages marked for deletion will now be hidden from view instead of being shown in the light grey text with the double lines.

  • If this option is not selected, the user's Outlook screen will show deleted emails with lines through the messages.
  • If the "Hide Messages Marked for Deletion is selected, the greyed out emails with strikeout text will be hidden from the user's view.
